As a freelance writer, Yolanda produces engaging and informative content for various clients in the fields of South Asian affairs, gender, international relations, and non-profit organizations. She has a PhD in South Asian Studies from SOAS University of London. Yolanda has also have over 15 years of experience as an election observer for the OSCE including being an independent supervisor in Serbia and most recently a short term observer in Bosnia in 2022.
Yolanda is also a trainer on submissions to the UN Special procedures for victims’ groups, a role that she has been performing since October 2018. In this role, she helps victims of human rights violations and their advocates to access and communicate with the UN mechanisms. Yolanda is passionate about promoting human rights and activist stories through her writing and training.
Yolanda joined the Governing Board of Sri Lanka Campaign in 2024.
