She is a specialist in conflict resolution and peace-making and has direct experience of building coalitions for peace in Sudan. After a brief career in the UK civil service, Carolyn has focused on supporting innovation and startups in the private and not for profit sector. She was a Board member of the Commonwealth Development Corporation from 1994 to 1999, is a former member of the Quaker UN Office (Geneva) Committee, and received an OBE in 2003.
