Affaf holds an MSc in Human Rights from the London School of Economics (LSE), with a background in governance, accountability, and human rights advocacy.

He has worked with the United Nations Development Programme, supporting legal interventions and policy reforms at Pakistan’s National Commission for Human Rights, and contributed to legislative advocacy, training and capacity building initiatives under the EU’s Human Rights project. As a Research Assistant at the Institute of Development Studies (UK), his experience includes policy research on governance and accountability in conflict-affected regions, stakeholder management, advocacy for human rights defenders, and designing impactful campaigns for justice and accountability.

As a member of the Asia Pacific Youth Advisory Group on Environmental and Climate Justice, Affaf also collaborates with UN agencies to advance human rights and environmental rights protections.
